On behalf of the children, staff and governors I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Furness Vale Primary and Nursery School.
It is a real privilege to be the Headteacher of our school and to work with such a dedicated team to provide the very best education and life skills for the children in our care. Since becoming the Headteacher in September 2021 we have developed a clear vision which holds our school values at the core of everything we do, as we strive for all of our children to leave our school with ‘Happy hearts, enquiring minds and positive futures’.
We are a village school which prides itself on creating a happy, caring, family atmosphere where everyone is encouraged and inspired to achieve their potential and develop a love of learning. Children lie at the heart of everything we do and every decision within the school is made with the best interest of our children in mind. Furness Vale Primary is a small and happy school, full of energy and enthusiasm. It has an interesting history going back over one hundred years, many members of our community attended the school themselves and continue to give us wonderful support.
We have a Nursery within our Early Years department and we can take children from the term following their third birthday.
During the summer of 2022 we had two new Astroturf multi-sports pitches installed on our playground, making it the perfect place for sports and fun playtimes. We also have a school garden and on its completion we will have full access to the Furness Vale Pavilion on the village field for larger sports events and Forest School.
At Furness Vale Primary children feel valued and parents are welcomed as partners in their child’s education. The most effective education is achieved when teachers and parents work together in a genuine partnership which results in all children being proud of their work, personal achievements and their school.
We know that choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make as a parent and would encourage you to come and visit us. We would love the opportunity to show you the Furness Vale family in action.
With warmest wishes,
Mrs Ruth Parry Headteacher
