At Furness Vale Primary School, we believe that every child should enjoy sport and physical activity and have opportunities to try as many different types of sport as possible, in order to be physically active and healthy. Our use of the funding (outlined below) ensures that every child in our school has regular opportunities to participate in sport and physical activities beyond the normal curriculum entitlement. The impact of this is that our children have a positive view of physical activity and a high-proportion take out-of-school opportunities to extend this. Questionnaires evidence this.
We are using the sports premium to ensure that we are inclusive and give every child opportunities to take part in competitive sport and we are ensuring that children have learned how to play the sport, to some degree, before competing. Our aim is that all children will take part in competitions both within and outside school. Our children are taught by enthusiastic, well-trained staff who have the resources to provide high-quality sport for all.
Where appropriate, we also use the funding to ensure that no child misses out on a physical experience because of financial constraints.
